We fought the wind as we were setting up; the wind won. We decided we couldn't use the canopies or they'd get wrecked. Plan B was a fail: Tarps for sun block just ripped in the wind. My friends Derek and Brenda Smith (son and mom) came to help with the party. We scrambled to use the shaded space we had available and just as the first guests arrived we were ready.
John drew pictures of the musical performers, Better Ride had people dancing again and singing along. Mellissa just wanted to hang out for a while before she warmed up and did some sculpture. I found out she was a friend of my pal Jule who's from Sioux Falls but couldn't make it to the party. Boo.
Paint was flying at the mural with many people adding their artistry to it.
We're becoming experts in "party-tearing-down" it was all in the trailer in 45 minutes. This was followed by supper with Megan and Melissa at the Hy-Vee deli.
We finished off the night with a stop at Black Sheep Coffee House where we met up with old pal Alex Kolb.
