Day One: Vermillion

We made it to Vermillion and had lunch with Kyle Hegge from South Dakota Advocates for Change. Danny doesn't like chinese food so he made his way to the sports bar for a cheese burger. After lunch we headed over to USD for Girls State where the ladies of our tour shared info about the Fallout to 450 girls from all over the state while the fellas set up for the party.
We coordinated a collaborative art piece with the Girls State girls the finished product was an artsy american flag with sketches and writings about participants future dreams. Over at the party site our hosts Cafe Brule were friendly and helpful and had awesome bevvies (aka drinks). Our major fail was we forgot the buckets to fill with water to hold down the canvases so we we're being a bit creative to keep from blowing away.

Tiffany Ruring (above) came early and stayed late. I was getting heckled during my set by an elderly guy. I met some people who were watching our films and they said they hadn't seen this elderly guys in years, he's their uncle and they thought he was dead for the past 10 years. they were quite surprised when they ran into him. The dark clouds never produced rain and the wind wasn't too bad until a random gust blew through and picked up and tossed the mural sections busting Augustana's piece in two. ILL Medicine and Jeremy played killer sets and Better Ride took the stage and drew a few people out to dance around.
Great Party! Good looking art by a gaggle vermillionites.
We finished up the night at a local cafe per Kyle's suggestion before heading to our Hotel in Sioux Falls.
